Information, the transfer and exchange of knowledge through oral presentations, lectures in art theory and art history, and discussions are essential elements of teaching.
Excursions offer the possibility of particularly intensive discussion and observation.
Classical materials and techniques (different casting techniques, plastic, wood, metal, stone etc.) can be learnt in the Arfrade Street workshop under expert guidance. All other materials such as structures, systems, contexts, light, movement, material, colour, smell, objects or life forms are parts of individual or experimental examination.
Traditional exercises in the creation of forms are complemented by courses dealing with installation video, spatial conception and other aesthetic processes.
The decisive factor is what happens in the mind.
This can be openly expressed in presentations within the Academy or in external exhibitions.
This process, which requires intensive dialogue, needs regular individual supervision; the exchange of knowledge with other classes, and the participation in the range of interdisciplinary courses offered at the Academy and at the Christian Albrechts University.
