The term "art basics" suggests
the idea that there is a basis for artistic work. It should however be
constantly questioned along with current developments in art.
The following areas of study can be tentatively described:
Introduction and experimental examination using visual methods in the fields of
painting, drawing, sculpture, video/film; the imaginative and artistic use of
colour, line, surface, space, form, material and time; theoretical and
practical training of perception in the sense of a sharpening of visual
capability, with reference to the observation of nature and the presentation
and reflection of one’s own work; finally, examples of conveying knowledge of
culture and art history of past eras as well as information about current
artistic opinions. Here, experience shows how important it is that theoretical
discussions are offered not only by art theorists but also artists themselves
(i.e. the perspective of art-makers).
