Structural Design

Industrial design does not always have to be the shrill, superficial product of a so-called "modern civilisation" but it should also be related to durability, which normally determines objects of "ancient cultures". This should possess an aspect of both its material substance and its intellectual character. This means we are convinced by objects whose physical and aesthetic "tenability" will last longer than a fashion trend.

The major focus of the study of "structural design", which comprises the fields of furniture design and structural elements, concentrates in the basic studies on "constructive concepts". This is to make the relation between form and construction clear. The objective is to teach that not only the static (form) of a product is dependent on its construction but also its elementary form, the ease of its assembly and the easy separation of its parts.
