Kiel’s Interface Design courses deal intensively with interactive information design and the high quality relationships between Interface Design and Product Design. They are geared towards the integral design of utility processes of hard- and software in the sense of holistic design ability.
We design the relational experiences between humans and artefacts – from functional products and software applications via services and social structures up to media installations. During the study programme we consciously leave our terrain as designers. We search for the challenge of the electronic experiment and narrative story tellingin animation and film. We equally look for the interdisciplinary proximity and friction of research projects of scientific disciplines which inspire us. This is done always with the objective in mind of opening our eyes and thoughts and questioning with great empathy how design can be developed further, sustainably with regard to human needs and desires.
