The “interdisciplinary week” take place in the summer term with changing thematic focus of general research interest. A larger symposium, with an increasing programme of artistic events, aims at intensive exchange between professors and lecturers of different disciplines from other universities and art schools. This enables lecturers at the Muthesius Academy to enter into a dialogue on current work and research fields with representatives of the interdisciplinary scientific community and those in professional practices.
The “workshop-week” of the Forum, which closely follows the symposium with regards to both theme and time, gives the students inspiration for their artistic and conceptual work. Whereas the “interdisciplinary week” is focussed externally and is targeted at the interests of the public, the “experimental room” aims at synergy effects within the Academy.
The “Experimental Room”, which takes place in the winter semester, requires intense co-operation between the specialist areas and the fields of study at the Muthesius Academy. The knowledge gained in the study courses is broadened and intensified by a small, theme-related symposium, projects and workshops initiated via recommendations from the different degree courses.
