Interface-Design

The computerisation of our product environment presents all designers involved in product development with a new challenge: e.g. the design of  intuitive uses of software and hardware as a functional-aesthetic unit as well as the design of pure software applications; many products have already been “dematerialised”, i.e. they consist essentially of audio-visual information.

Interface design is seen as a partner discipline for construction design and technical design in the field of industrial design and deals with the design of the operating systems of interactive (software) systems and technical product series from the area of consumer and investment goods.

The interdisciplinary structure of the Centre for Media produces important synergy effects related to the fields of digital and interactive media in the study of communication design. This should be actively used.
